A Lifetime at the Piano

Lydia Bujok is a piano teacher, pianist, performer, composer and writer who has been classically trained since the age of six, when she first started her piano education with Debbie Rauscher and soon after with Marvin Blickenstaff.

While studying with Mr. Blickenstaff, Lydia was involved in The New Jersey Music Teachers Association (NJMTA) Program’s Annual Spring Festival Achievement Awards, scoring Excellent from 2006 to 2015, and received a five-year award and a seven-year award in the Piano Festival.

Throughout high school, from 2011 to 2015, she was the accompanist for the High School Choir and the Women’s Choir, accompanying assemblies, visits to nursing homes, school choir trips and performances at churches around the area. She also sang soprano and alto in both choirs, directed her high school choir, and performed background piano music for award assemblies.

Lydia has worked as an accompanist for church choirs with children and high school students, and spent about seven months in Child Watch at the YMCA, gaining experience and patience working with children of all ages. She started teaching piano at twenty-one, took over her sister’s piano students in 2017, and now runs her own studio, Lydia Michelle Piano Studios. She is currently composing her own piano music.

What makes my studio different

Music Is Therapy for the Soul and Mind

Learning to play the piano can be rewarding on so many different levels, and it has so many benefits: developing devotion, discipline, intellectual intelligence, patience, self-esteem and artistry.

One of the best ways to cope with emotional stresses and situations in life is through music. I believe it’s truly the therapy for the soul and mind, helping someone deal with their own emotional and mental state.

My students learn how to express themselves emotionally, and to express their thoughts and feelings through music.

I get my students used to proper practice routines and habits in the studio, so they can practice accurately on their own at home.
